Sharon joined Appleby as a Paralegal in September 2006. She is currently an IP Paralegal within the Corporate and Commercial Practice Group.
Sharon oversees the portfolios of several large brand owners in various Caribbean countries and generally assists with database management. Her responsibilities include filing and monitoring trade mark registrations and renewals, conducting trade mark searches, recordals of mergers, liaising with clients and agents, oppositions, and file management.
Prior to joining the Corporate and Commercial Practice Group she spent over two years in Appleby’s Litigation and Insolvency Group, where she provided general litigation support. During this time her responsibilities included the management of court filings, conducting court searches, liaising with the Listing Officer and Court Clerks and conducting legal research. Later she concentrated in local litigation with focus on debt collection where she was responsible for obtaining and enforcing judgments for clients. Her responsibilities included liaising with clients, drafting proceedings, arranging process service, securing listing dates and preparation of affidavits.
Prior to joining Appleby, Sharon spent six years with another Cayman Islands law firm. During that time, she obtained her LLB (Hons) from the University of Liverpool.
